I've never understood why a large part of our culture got more upset over a President lying about sexual peccadillos and being unfaithful to his spouse than it gets about a President lying to millions of citizens, exploiting a national tragedy for political gain, and getting hundreds of Americans and thousands of Iraqis killed.
Today in Berkeley, I saw this eloquently summed up on a bumper sticker:
When Clinton lied, nobody died.
Even if their commander in chief refuses to honor them, I salute and honor the fallen among America's soldiers who were sent to die under false pretenses, as well as the poor Iraqis, most of whom were killed only because they got caught in the cross-fire between the best armed military in the world and the Iraqis fighting the occupation. Amazing to think that more Iraqi civilians have died from American violence in Iraq than Americans died on 9-11.
